Head Waiter
A superb opportunity has arisen for an experienced, standards driven Head Waiter to join this delightful country house hotel operation near Blackburn. Your primary objective will be to ensure the standards of food service are to a high level with an aim to attain a 2 star Michelin award for all services in the restaurant and private dining areas. You will work closely with and support the Restaurant Manager in a proactive way, contributing to a smooth successful running operation.
As Head Waiter, you will be expected to be fully conversant with their business aims and objectives and to play a proactive role in their achievements. This will include having excellent knowledge and understanding of all of their products, menus and pricing structures and, in conjunction with the General and Restaurant Managers, ensure that each shift is staffed appropriately and that all staff are briefed thoroughly on the detail of the service and on their roles prior to the start of service. Other responsibilities will include the induction of new staff and the training, development and motivation of all staff.
Essential qualities that we are seeking for the Head Waiter are exceptionally high levels of customer service, presentation, cleanliness and appearance; a keen eye for detail; superb communication skills. You must demonstrate how you are able to deal with colleagues openly and fairly at all times, whilst promoting mutual respect within the team.
